Birmingham pub bombings.
Another expensive enquiry to be paid for by the tax payer.

What is the point?

Its 42 years ago those responsible are probably dead, just let it go.

Too many concessions were given in the name of the Good Friday agreement.

Try telling the families of anyone hurt or killed by the IRA, that raking up the past will damage the peace and reconciliation process.

"Holidaying" in Ireland a few months before a terrorist attack?

Only 200 yards away from said attack just a few months later?

Mace66 = the world's youngest IRA terrorist.

I can't believe people are slagging off the relatives of people who died in an IRA bombing for wanting answers and justice.

For fuck sake no wonder our country is fucked.

What happened at Hillsborough was an accident.

People made mistakes, but no one set out that day to hurt (or kill) anyone.

This is entirely different.

Do these people live in Liverpool?

Re: Birmingham pub bombings.
Maybe the police did know a bombing was imminent, what are they supposed to do? Close Birmingham?

The only people to blame are the cowardly murderers.

In the summer of that year my parents took us to visit relatives in Ireland and i remember almost shitting myself before we boarded the ferry. Authorities took my old man's car apart searching it. Very frightening as an 8 year old off on holiday for a week wondering what's going on as the contents of you vehicle are being laid out on the pavement/road ... that includes the seats being unbolted and removed !!

Nearly as scared as i was a few months later when we were in Birmingham city centre about 200 yards from the Mulberry Bush when it blew up.

just proved the establishment don't give a shit about the ordinary people of the UK.
just like how post 7/7 and Lee Rigby they are sucking up to those who are behind such atrocities.
What was it someone once said.
The British establishment will sell their most loyal friends in order to buy their worst enemies.

Very vaguely remember a documentary about the Birmingham 6 and the entire thing just seemed to centre entirely on how terrible and tragic it was that they were locked up and what absolute bastards the police/govt/English were, the 21 dead victims were barely mentioned.

Still the queen shook hands with one of the IRA recently so everything is OK now.

Two of the people that did the bombings are dead so all too late. The only surviving member lives in Dublin and he will never face justice. The police would have covered their tracks years ago so much collusion went on its too big for the truth to be revealed. Horrible for the relatives but the IRA are now in government and paid for by British public so little chance of the real people facing punishment.

Good luck to them.

Lets hope the days of pubs being bombed by cowards is behind us.

A few of the "innocent" 6 will be looking over their shoulders as well.

So what is the enquiry for, to reveal the ineptitude of our Police or their mendacity?

That's a great point Lily!

Why didn't Vanessa Feltz say this to her during the interview????

If she didn't have kids because of this, then she's saved shitloads of cash. She owes the police/IRA/Scvousers or whoever is to blame/thank.

All pretty clear, reading that back.

Re: Birmingham pub bombings.
They were innocent.

Allegedly.

They reckon the Police knew that something was imminent and therefore are equally to blame.
